Company Background

Mechgen was founded 2013 with the objective of providing a range of specialised engineering and related supportive services to its clients, large and small in the Greater KwaZulu Natal region.

Mechgen has an 800m² workshop with an 8ton overhead crane, as well as a fully equipped Mobile Service Trailer, enabling the company to do on-site boilermaking, thermite welding, rigging, mechanical fitting and diesel fitting and repairs. The workshop houses welding machines, milling machines, lathes etc. We are able to deliver 2.8 tons of steel a day on conveyor structure and 3.5 tons on heavy structural steel.

Through self-motivation, dedication, retention of skilled staff, and adequate resourcing of the owned workshop, we are able deliver quality service to our clients through a balanced blend of technical, financial, and people skills.

Management Safety Policy Statement

Mechgen believes that its employees are the most important assets, and that all its employees have the right to a safe and healthy working environment in which they can safely perform their tasks. However, Mechgen Engineering also believes that all its employees have a moral and legal responsibility to do everything that is reasonably practicable to protect their own safety and health as well as of those working with and around them. Mechgen subscribes to the Technilaw standards and formal safety meetings with own employees are carried out on an ongoing basis.

Incident and Injury Investigation

Mechgen Management will ensure all incidents, of whatever severity, and the near misses are recorded and reported internally and to the clients where applicable without delay, using the client’s systems and documentations as maybe prescribed.

Mechgen Engineering will in all cases, identify all incident &/or injury contributory factors and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Quality Assurance and Control

Mechgen is totally committed to Quality Assurance, which forms a crucial part of our operating system and is based on the SABS 0152, part 1 (ISO 9002) procedure. Our long-term plan with regards to quality assurance and control is that of continuous improvement and ensuring that we operate a fully auditable system.

We are committed in working closely with our clients and adhering to their quality requirements and schedules.
